Famar's history began in 1973, with the startup in Rivoli (TO) of M.T. (Marinello-Testa), a small machine tool machining and overhaul company.

Transfer to sant'ambrogio di torino
With the move to Sant'Ambrogio di Torino in 1982, the path of building special high-tech machine tools, intended limitedly for the Turin production area, began.

Business expansion
In 2001, the Famar plant doubled in size to meet the increasing demands of customers. Famar's services expanded, offering not only machines as ends in themselves, but models that could be perfectly integrated within a production cycle and in perfect compliance with the standards required in the destination plants.

Famar automation division
In 2005, Famar Automation, an in-house division dedicated to the design and implementation of connecting and handling lines between multiple machine tools, was established.

Opening office in germany
The growth of international relations and the rapid expansion of the Famar Group in world markets made it necessary to consolidate a concrete presence outside national borders. In particular, in addition to the widespread network of agents in various countries, Famar Werkzeugmaschinen gmbh was inaugurated, through which the company acquires and manages customers in the Germanic areas.

The Famar Group's desire to offer technological solutions for all production needs has given rise to Fausto Marinello, the new technological headquarters within which milling solutions are designed and developed through the most advanced single-spindle and twin-spindle machining centers.

China office opening
In 2018 Famar Group celebrates its 45th year by surpassing 3,500 machines sold worldwide. The company's international expansion leads to the establishment of Famar Machinery Ltd, a Shanghai-based sales office responsible for the eastern market.

Enhancement of production department
In 2021, the Famar Group established Famar Meccanica, a division that is responsible for the in-house production of the main elements that make up Famar, Fausto Marinello and Famar Automation machines. This move created a strong competitive advantage against the entire machine tool market.
